What a difference a few months can make.  Madison just lost her first baby tooth.  She came in with tears in her eyes that her tooth was loose.  All the emphasis Amy and I have put on brushing or “All your teeth will fall out” The realization that everything would be okay and especially that the tooth fairy pays big dividends for discarded enamel put the tears to rest.

Abi and Madison got their own Mac for their room and they love watching music videos.  ABBA and Sarah McLachlan are the current favorites and they’ll watch them over and over and over...  They also have a good selection of educational games.   I’m just amazed at how quickly they’ve picked up operating their Mac.  Sometimes they are like little geniuses.  I put iChat on so I can video chat with them when I’m traveling and it’s been fun to see them on the road and it makes them feel closer.  Madison is doing well in school, learning to read, making lots of friends and playing with our neighbor as often as she can.  Both of the girls love Kevin (the boy next door)  he is a few years older but he’s their best buddy.

Dad & Marijanne were out and stayed with us for about a week in April.  It was fun having them around and we did lots of fun California stuff while they were in town as well as a few chill out days so we could just visit.  Dad and I got out on the boat for some fishing as well.  The fishing is still spotty but we managed enough rockcod to make a nice Ceviche as well as some to freeze for fish and chips later.

I’m so glad the summer weather is here.  Amy’s less than thrilled because she’s less heat tolerant than I but I just can’t wait to get out on the water more and for the big fishing season to get going.  After last year I’ve got high hopes that I’ll get on some quality Albacore or Dorado.  Mike and I worked on the boat in the later half of May and got the bilge pump and radio replaced and working.  We’ve got one stubborn bait pump that just doesn’t seem to want to work right.  I’m close to admitting defeat and getting professional help for the boat.  If I can’t get it sorted this weekend I’m taking it in.

As for my job situation, I’ve elected to stay on at Omniture although in a new role.  Omniture was the company out of Utah that acquired the company I was working for before (Visual Sciences).  My new job has me running Account Management and Partner Management  that represent almost 2/3 of our companies reoccurring revenue.  It’s a challenging job, still high touch with customers, which is what I like most.  Like most companies we are running cautiously but still growing like gangbusters.

I also managed to replace the fence between my neighbor and I.  I’ll put up photos of my masterwork once I get them off my computer.

I’m going to make the attempt to be more regular with my postings. (we’ll see, there just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day)
